NORTHWESTERN RIPLEY COUNTIES THROUGH 315 AM CDT...

At 239 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Handy, or 16 miles southwest of Van Buren, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Handy.

Mauldin, or 8 miles north of Mount Ida, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

a line extending from near Pleasant View to Chester Township.
Movement was northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

* Affected Area...All areas of southwest and south-central New
  Mexico including the Gila Region and the Sacramento Mountains
  plus far west Texas.

* Timing...1 PM TO 8 PM Thursday

* Relative Humidity...3 to 10 percent.

* Wind...West to southwest at 15 to 20 mph.

These conditions will support the spread of wildfires. Outdoor
burning and activities that involve open sparks or flames are
discouraged.
